Do you have a puppy contract & health guarantee?

Yes! We have a contract that goes over a multitude of things including, contact information for breeder and buyer, general information about your puppy including their microchip, health and vaccine records, terms of which the contract is for (pet home, service dog ect.) , spay and neuter requirement, our general health guarantee that goes over how you must have your puppy examined by a veterinarian in the first week to confirm we sold you a healthy puppy, a 1 year genetic health guarantee, rehoming requirements that states if for some reason you are no longer able to care for your puppy I must be notified and will assist in the rehoming process or it must be returned to me. Our contract is not scary and really meant to protect both our puppies, their new families and ourselves.

Should we be giving our new puppy any vitamins?

We recommend continuing to give NUVET PLUS that we start at 7 weeks old, we have been using them for  2+ years and have all of our pets on it, Nuvet is great for lots of things but my personal favorite for around go home time is that it helps keep the immune system strong, which especially with a big environment change is important for a puppy's health.

How much do standard poodles and labradoodles eat?

Our adult that are 40-70lbs eat 3 cups of kibble per day, 1 cup AM dry and 2 cups PM with about 1/2 a cup of fresh homemade food with hot water on their dinner, a day and maintain a healthy weight.

What vaccines does my puppy need?

Puppies need a series of vaccines starting at 8 weeks old to build protection against dangerous diseases. They aren’t fully vaccinated until around 16 weeks, so it’s important to limit exposure to unknown dogs and public places until then. (Your puppy comes home with their first DHPP vaccine that they receive at their vet check.)

Here’s a general schedule:

    •    8 weeks: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

    •    12 weeks: DHPP + optional but recommended Bordetella (especially for social puppies or those going to groomers/daycare) + other optional vaccines like Leptospirosis or Lyme, depending on your location and lifestyle

    •    16 weeks: DHPP, Rabies, and any remaining optional vaccines from 12 weeks

After that, boosters are typically needed every 1–3 years. Always consult your vet for the best vaccine schedule based on your puppy’s lifestyle and location.

When do you recommend we get our puppy spayed or neutered?

We recommend for females to wait until at least after their first heat, so usually around 12-15 months to get Spayed. for males we recommend you wait until at minimum 8 months old but closer to over a year and if you can responsibly take care of an un-altered male then wait until 10-20 months old as males take much longer to physically mature. Waiting until these ages is good for your puppies health all over if you can do so responsibly.
