HOW WE RAISE OUR PUPPIES

Weeks One & Two
In the first two weeks we are paying lots of attention to Momma, making sure she is recovering well, getting enough nutrients, and spoiling her to pieces. For the puppies they are getting lots of snuggles and we are doing daily weights to make sure everyone is gaining good. On day 3 we start ENS and ESI and EGI these are (Early Neurological Stimulation , Early Scent Introduction, and Early Grooming Introduction) ENS and ESI were developed by the military to improve stress tolerance, cardiovascular health, immune system, sense of smell, build confidence and much more, but it can only be done from days 3-16 when the neurons are connecting, it is 5 gentle and short(5 seconds each) stressors and a new scent each day. EGI/Early Grooming Introduction we do everyday for the first 2 weeks with a loud strong electric toothbrush, yup that's right a tooth brush! We do this for 20-30 seconds all over the puppy, to get them used to the feeling and noise of clippers as they will have to be groomed their whole lives! This is something we strongly encourage our puppy families to continue often while they are young in between professional grooming sessions. Lastly at the end of week one and two the puppies have now had 2 of their weekly nail trims.

Weeks Three & Four
Weeks 3 and 4 are big weeks! We start to introducing potty training, half of their whelping box is now potty trays and the other half a bed with a few hanging toys. No one likes to sleep in a wet bed so they learn very quickly to use the trays to go potty. We are doing daily handling exercises to get them used to being touched, tugged and more! We start having them do Manding which is where they have to sit before we will pick them up, or really give them lots of attention until they are sitting, this may sound weird but we believe in trying to raise our puppies with good manners will help them carry it with them for life, that is if you keep up on it. Different noise exposures like, fireworks, trains, crying babies, loud music, thunder and wind storms and more! They get their first round of dewormer and get to try lapping milk for the first time as we very slowly start weaning mom at the end of the fourth week.

Weeks Five & Six
Weeks 5 and 6 are so fun! Their personalities come out so much and they are getting much more playful and cuddly! This week we are working on more confidence building by introducing balance toys, slides, tunnels, and noise making toys! They start to eat puppy mush and seeing mom less through out the day. They are still spending a lot of the time sleeping, as they are starting to grow faster and faster!

Weeks Seven & Eight
Weeks 7 and 8 are their busiest weeks, they start crate training, and working on basic commands, starting to go potty out side, playing tons, and getting their first vet exams and vaccines and their final round of dewormer ! All while still getting lots of handling and exposure!

Week Nine
Our Last Week ! We keep our puppies until 9 weeks to help aid their development with their siblings! We strongly believe that they learn so much from each other! This week we are also making sure they are doing great with crate training so that things are easier on you as a new pawrent!
